Tube Investments of India Ltd (TII) was formed in 1959, by integrating TI Cycles of India (TICI) and Tube Products of India (TPI). Being a pioneer in the market since 1949, TI Cycles of India has been a trendsetter; meeting customers’ evolving demands. With a vision to be the “Most preferred brand in fitness, recreation, and personal mobility solutions”, the organization endeavours to give its customers not just a bicycle but a lifetime experience. Established in 1955, Tube Products of India (TPI) is the most prominent supplier of precision tubes, Electric Resistance Welded (ERW), and Cold Drawn Welded (CDW), to major automotive companies both, in India and around the globe. It also has a noteworthy presence in power plants, boiler, textile machinery, and general engineering. The International Business Division (IBD) focuses on international markets driving TPI to compete with global tube manufacturers.
Looking forward to the scope of roll-formed metal products, TI Metal Forming (TIMF) was founded in 1965. It manufactures car door frames, window and guide channels, impact beams, hydro-formed parts, frames for various types of motor casings, etc. and supplies rolled formed sections for the Railways too. TI Diamond Chain (TIDC), incorporated in 1960, in collaboration with a global company from the USA, was merged with Tube Investments of India Ltd in 2004. TIDC India extensively manufactures industrial and automotive chains, serving its customers with outstanding quality products at competitive prices.
The subsidiaries of Tube Investments of India Ltd include Sedis- a leading manufacturer of industrial and engineering class chains in France and Shanthi Gears (SGL) a manufacturer of power transmission products like gearboxes, gear motors, gear assemblies, and more. Sedis has a substantial presence in over 100 countries and its supreme list of clients include Lafarge, Charles De Gaulle airport, BAA Heathrow, Metronet, Cairo Metro, Kone, Otis, Schindler, etc. With over 4 decades of exceptional track record, SGL holds the esteemed ISO 9001:2000 certification and other certifications include AS9100B, AS 9100C, AGMA, etc.

The TII Heritage
After political independence in 1947, the market prospered with prodigious opportunities waiting to be captured by the Indian sovereignty. Our torchbearer, Murugappa Chettiar soon realized this Economic Independence and contemplated utilizing those fruitful options. Nurturing a vision to manufacture a product for the common man that could be sold in large numbers, he established the TI Cycle of India (TICI) in collaboration with TI of the UK, in the year 1949. As a measure of backward integration, The Tube Products of India (TPI) was formed to make steel tubes for bicycle frames in 1955 and TI Diamond Chain (TIDC) in 1960, to make bicycle chains. And finally, the Tube Investments of India Ltd (TII) in 1959 was formed by merging TICI and TPI while TIDC India was merged later in 2004.
Burgeoning over six decades of its existence, Tube Investments of India Ltd has been a trailblazer in building remarkable works in the engineering and metal forming sectors. All thanks to the central R&D function which underpinned Tube Investments of India Ltd since its formation.
